"Omaha Profile"
Omaha, Nebraska
Spring 1959
This photograph taken during an early campaign trip to Nebraska has become the most published image of JFK. It was the first campaign poster (the Kennedy for President Democratic Convention poster), a campaign document that was used in brochures, on car stickers and head bands, the thirteen cent US stamp. It was also used as the portrait for the Kennedy half-dollar. Finally it became the image that graced President Kennedy's official funeral announcement.
